The role available at Pacific Hospitality Group is a Food and Beverage Server position within their hospitality operations, offering an hourly wage of $16.90. This position plays a crucial role in delivering a high-level dining experience to guests, emphasizing exceptional customer service and attention to detail. The server is responsible for assisting guests with menu selections, suggesting courses and beverages, and explaining the chef's specialties with knowledgeable insights to enhance the dining experience. The role requires entering orders accurately into the POS system, managing special requests and dietary needs, and maintaining clear communication with the kitchen staff to ensure timely meal preparation. Furthermore, the server handles payment processes with precision, maintains work area cleanliness and organization, and prepares dining areas with appropriate decor and table settings. Adherence to food handling, sanitation, health department guidelines, and safety policies is mandatory, along with the proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE) provided by the hotel to ensure a safe working environment. Safety vigilance including reporting potential hazards and following OSHA and hazardous material regulations is a critical responsibility. The server must demonstrate punctuality, complete assigned side work, and respond promptly to guest needs without compromising professional boundaries. Conflict resolution is part of the role, addressing guest complaints within scope or escalating appropriately and ensuring that alcoholic beverage service complies with legal restrictions, including excluding minors and intoxicated individuals. Job Requirements

  • Willingness to obtain Food Handler and RBS certifications within 30 days

  • Ability to report safety issues and cooperate with safety policies

Job Qualifications

  • One year of food service experience, preferably in a hotel/resort environment
  • Knowledge of food and beverage preparation, hotel service standards, guest relations, and etiquette
  • Communication and interpersonal skills with a commitment to a high level of guest satisfaction
  • Valid current Food Handlers Card and RBS Certification (Responsible Beverage Service) or willingness and ability to obtain one within 30 days of employment
  • Ability to learn and use POS computer systems used at the hotel

Job Duties

  • Helps guests select food and beverages by presenting menu, offering cocktails and aperitifs, suggesting courses, explaining the chef's specialties, identifying appropriate wines and answering food preparation questions
  • Enters orders to POS system and records guests' choices, special dietary needs and special requests
  • Keeps kitchen staff informed by noting timing of meal progression
  • Processes guest payment transactions accurately and closes out table, balances all payment methods with accuracy to sales report
  • Maintains the cleanliness of the work areas and keeps area stocked
  • Prepares room for dining by clothing tables and setting decorations, condiments, candles, napkins, service plates, and utensils
  • Follows all standard food handling, sanitation, TIPS and health department guidelines
  • Must wear non-slip, oil-resistant shoes, follows all safety policies and procedures, reports potential safety issues to managers whenever observed and takes immediate action to resolve them in emergency situations
  • Reporting to work as scheduled (on time and on regular basis) is an essential function of the job
  • Completes side work before, during and after shift
  • Provides guests with a high-level dining experience, while maintaining a professional distance and staying alert to their needs
  • Notifies management of unsafe conditions, needed maintenance of any equipment and any accidents
  • Resolves guest complaints within scope of authority
