The role of Dual Seafood Team Leader at Giant Eagle is a dynamic and pivotal leadership position overseeing seafood departments across two store locations. This unique role demands a leader with the ability to manage multiple teams, ensuring efficient and effective operations. As Dual Seafood Team Leader, you will be the go-to expert for team members and guests alike, providing guidance on the freshest seafood options and offering preparation advice to enhance customer experience. You will be accountable for the entire department’s performance, driving results related to sales, safety, labor, inventory management, and guest satisfaction.

This role involves substantial team development responsibilities, including recruiting, training, coaching, and motivating team members. You will lead by example, promoting a culture of respect, inclusion, and dignity, and fostering an environment where diversity is celebrated and each team member’s voice is heard. Your leadership will inspire the team to not only meet but exceed sales and profit goals while maintaining the highest standards in product quality and safety.

Operational management is critical in this position. You will handle scheduling, work distribution, compliance, budget management, and inventory control across multiple locations. Your analytical skills will be applied in reviewing financial and inventory reports to identify trends, reduce shrinkage, and optimize labor costs. Safety will always be your top priority, ensuring that both team members and customers have a secure and pleasant shopping experience.

The Dual Seafood Team Leader will also collaborate closely with the merchandising team to ensure promotional activities are effectively communicated and executed. This leadership position requires someone with previous retail leadership or supervisory experience, strong product knowledge, and a demonstrated ability to motivate and develop teams. Job Requirements

  • At least 18 years of age
  • High school diploma or equivalent plus 18 months to 3 years of additional training
  • 1 to 3 years of experience
  • Prior retail leadership or supervisory experience desired
  • Food safety certification required
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds
  • Regional travel required daily 10 to 25 percent

  • Review and analyze financial, line of business reports and historical data to improve sales, profits, shrink, and labor controls
  • Oversee inventories for accuracy and monitor weekly inventory and shrink fluctuations
