Currently, Herschend Enterprises is seeking a Food & Beverage Supervisor to join the team at Sea Life Park. This supervisory role offers an excellent opportunity for experienced restaurant professionals to develop their leadership skills while contributing to the memorable experiences of park guests. The Food & Beverage Supervisor will be responsible for overseeing the operations of the restaurant team and any other assigned departments, ensuring that all activities align with the park's core values and company standards.
The position is dynamic and multifaceted, requiring the individual to lead by example, mentor team members, and maintain high standards of customer service, cleanliness, safety, and operational efficiency. The supervisor will actively engage in hiring, orientation, training, performance coaching, scheduling, and timekeeping, fostering a collaborative and motivated team environment. Additionally, the role involves ensuring compliance with state and local health regulations, ServSafe guidelines, and company policies to create a safe and inviting dining atmosphere.
The Food & Beverage Supervisor must be adaptable, capable of stepping in to perform various restaurant duties including food preparation, dining, bar, or banquet service when necessary. The role demands excellent communication skills, problem-solving abilities, and a strong customer service orientation. The supervisor will also handle POS systems, assist with quality control, monitor equipment safety, and respond professionally to emergencies. This position requires a flexible work schedule including nights, weekends, and holidays, and the willingness to work in various indoor and outdoor park settings.

Job Requirements
- Must be at least 18 years of age to comply with Hawaii Child Labor Laws

Job Qualifications
- No education requirements for this position
- 1-2 years of previous work experience in a restaurant setting
- 1+ years of previous supervisory experience preferred
- ability to read, write, and speak fluent English
- bilingual language skills such as Spanish are a plus
- knowledge of POS systems and PCI compliance is a plus
- strong written and verbal communication skills

Job Duties
- Supervise the daily operations of the restaurant team and any other assigned departments
- lead by example, attitude, and as a representation of Sea Life Park’s core values
- act as an approachable mentor and coach to all assigned team members
- ensure professional staff appearance and uniform compliance
- become knowledgeable of all restaurant positions and step in to perform duties when needed
- participate in hiring, orientation, training, performance coaching, and discipline
- assist with team scheduling and timekeeping activities
- deliver exceptional customer service by listening attentively and responding promptly to guest requests and complaints
- ensure enforcement and compliance of all company, state, and local policies and procedures
- maintain cleanliness, sanitation, and safety of the restaurant
- strictly abide by ServSafe standards and regulatory requirements
- utilize all point of sales (POS) systems accurately
- document restaurant activities and provide reports to management
- assist in quality control to maintain proper standards
- motivate and instill customer service excellence in team members
- inspect furniture, fixtures, and equipment for safety and functionality
- escalate safety, hygiene, or maintenance issues promptly
- respond calmly to emergency situations
- properly handle, label, stock, and store products including alcohol and chemicals
- assist with catering and banquet events
- perform other duties as assigned by leadership
