Job Description
Leidos is a leading industry and technology company dedicated to serving government and commercial customers with smarter, more efficient digital and mission-driven innovations. Headquartered in Reston, Virginia, Leidos employs approximately 47,000 people worldwide and reported annual revenues of about $16.7 billion for the fiscal year ending January 3, 2025. The company’s mission focuses on making the world a safer place by supporting customers in the Defense Industry to achieve critical missions globally. With a commitment to integrity, innovation, and community engagement, Leidos empowers its teams to deliver advanced solutions, contribute meaningfully to communities, and operate sustainably. This combination of values, expertise, and technology positions Leidos as a trusted partner for complex government and commercial projects worldwide.
The opportunity presented by Leidos is for a cleared Scrum Master to join the Non-Kinetic Effects Business Area, which is part of the company’s Defense Sector, located at their Beavercreek, Ohio office. This role is specifically tailored for individuals eager to apply Agile methodologies to support Air Force Research Lab, Air Force Lifecycle Management Center, and other Department of Defense missions. The successful candidate will engage in guiding, coaching, and mentoring cross-functional teams to foster Agile principles and practices that drive team performance, quality, and customer satisfaction.
As a Scrum Master at Leidos, you will play a pivotal role in elevating team functionality through enforcement of Scrum values such as commitment, focus, openness, respect, and courage. You will facilitate essential Agile ceremonies including daily stand-ups, sprint planning, retrospectives, and sprint reviews for multiple teams, including conducting Scrum of Scrums with various stakeholders for enhanced cross-team collaboration. This position requires an individual who can inspire teams through a maturity journey—building foundational Agile knowledge and subsequently empowering teams to tailor processes that continue to adhere to Agile manifesto principles effectively.
An important part of this role is partnering with Product Owners to balance short-term goals with long-term vision and encourage solution development that is iterative, experimental, customer-centric, and data-driven. This includes guiding teams and stakeholders to adopt empirical approaches for managing complex work while continually challenging current development norms to improve predictability, quality, flow, and velocity. The Scrum Master will also focus on fostering high-performing team dynamics that support sustainable and continual improvement.
Leidos seeks candidates with a strong Lean and Agile mindset, who are passionate about helping technical teams in systems engineering, IT support, or network engineering environments to thrive. The position requires a top-secret security clearance and is exclusive to U.S. citizens, reflecting the critical nature of the projects involved. Leidos offers a competitive pay range from $73,450 to $132,775, commensurate with education, experience, and role responsibilities, alongside comprehensive benefits including health and wellness programs, income protection, paid leave, and retirement plans. This role exemplifies Leidos’ approach of outthinking and outpacing the status quo—looking for innovators who disrupt and refuse to fail to meet mission-critical objectives.
