The role of School Psychologist within this district is a vital position dedicated to supporting the mental, emotional, and developmental needs of students of all ages. The School Psychologist will provide counseling services to students with Individualized Education Plans (IEPs) and the general student body, addressing various challenges including mood disorders, autism spectrum disorders, anxiety, depression, ADHD, social skill deficits, and conduct disorders. By fostering positive coping strategies, motivation, and skill development, this professional helps create a conducive learning environment tailored to each child’s unique needs.

Responsibilities will include conducting comprehensive psychological assessments and evaluations to identify student strengths and challenges, developing and implementing individualized education plans (IEPs) and 504 Plans, and providing both individual and group counseling aimed at addressing emotional and behavioral issues. The role necessitates close collaboration with educators, parents, and school administrators to build supportive environments that promote student success. Additionally, the School Psychologist will offer crisis intervention and support services for students and staff when necessary.

Coordination with external resources is another critical aspect of this role, requiring partnerships with pediatricians, counseling agencies, and community organizations such as the Department of Children and Families (DCF) and the Department of Mental Health (DMH). This ensures comprehensive care and outreach efforts supporting both students and their families.

This position offers a competitive pay rate between $2,032.00 and $2,094.00 for a standard 6.5-hour day shift, starting August 3, 2026.
