Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED
  • Two years of experience in institutional food service
  • Experience in food service supervision
  • Must obtain ServSafe certification or completion of the Tennessee Department of Education Food Safety and Schools Certificate Program within one year
  • Proof of education, training, and/or experience is required
  • Ability to supervise staff effectively
  • Knowledge of food safety regulations
  • Capability to manage inventory and ordering processes

Job Qualifications

Job Duties

  • Ensure the efficient operation of the school cafeteria
  • Supervise food service staff
  • Order foods and supplies
  • Oversee food planning, preparation, and service
  • Supervise point-of-sale terminal operation and financial reporting
  • Ensure compliance with District, Board policies and State, Federal regulations
  • Provide food services for satellite sites or operate cluster schools or high volume locations
