The role of School Nutrition and Kitchen Manager at Corpus Christi Catholic School is a pivotal position responsible for overseeing the daily operations of the school kitchen and food service program. This hourly position demands a dedicated and organized individual who will manage everything from meal preparation to compliance with federal guidelines under the National School Lunch Program (NSLP). Responsibilities include preparing main entrees, managing food safety and sanitation, placing and managing online orders, maintaining production sheets, and ensuring that the kitchen functions efficiently and safely. This manager will collaborate closely with school administration and cafeteria staff to deliver nutritious meals that meet all federal and state nutritional requirements. Not only is the position integral to maintaining food quality and safety, but it also supports the school’s overall mission by ensuring that meals contribute positively to student health and learning capabilities. The School Nutrition and Kitchen Manager will also handle food cost monitoring, minimize waste, and prepare for health inspections and audits, all while fostering a positive environment among cafeteria team members. Job Duties

  • Support the school's mission and promote a welcoming environment for students
  • Plan and prepare school meals that meet National School Lunch Program guidelines and nutrition standards
  • Prepare meals in a timely manner to ensure efficient serve for students and staff
  • Take the lead on ordering food and kitchen supplies from approved vendors
  • Monitor food costs and minimize waste
  • Ensure compliance with NSLP regulations, state health requirements, and school policies
  • Maintain required documentation such as production records, temperature logs, and inventory records
  • Assist during health inspections and program audits
  • Ensure proper food handling, cooking temperatures, and sanitation procedures
  • Supervise cafeteria staff on safe food handling practices
  • Foster a positive, respectful working environment
  • Communicate with administration regarding menu needs, equipment issues, and ordering
  • Assist with special school events or meal services as needed
