They believe education is an active, dynamic process that requires hard work, continuous learning, and enthusiasm from all involved. Legacy Traditional Schools aims to not only educate students but also to build a collaborative community of learners and achievers who support each other's growth and success.
The role available is a multifaceted Food Service Manager position based at a campus that requires a proactive and adaptable individual capable of supporting various kitchen functions. This is a full-time position, either on a 10-month or year-round schedule, typically working a minimum of 40 hours per week from 7:00 AM to 3:30 PM with a 30-minute lunch break. The ideal candidate will be responsible for coordinating and directing day-to-day activities of the campus Food Service Team, ensuring that food quality, safety standards, inventory management, and customer service expectations are consistently met. The position demands versatility as the manager must be able to perform as a cook, cashier, food service worker, and manager, depending on daily needs. This requires leadership skills and the ability to work under minimal supervision while coaching and supporting team members.
In this role, the Food Service Manager carries out vital tasks such as preparing, cooking, serving, and replenishing food; monitoring inventory and ordering supplies; maintaining cleanliness and organization of kitchen areas; and collaborating with school administrators, parents, and students to address any issues and ensure exceptional cafeteria service. Managers are also expected to oversee the execution of Standard Operating Procedures, monitor critical control points related to food safety, and ensure proper documentation and compliance with company policies around safety, security, and emergency procedures.
Additional managerial duties include preparing daily production sheets, placing and verifying weekly orders with suppliers, operating cash register and POS systems, managing financial controls and reconciliations, and participating in special events catering. The role also involves organizing the stockroom and cold storage, conducting inventory counts, attending campus meetings and training sessions, and upholding professional standards defined in the employee handbook.
This position requires candidates to possess a High School Diploma or GED, a valid Food Handler’s Certificate, and a Manager Certification. They should have at least four years of experience in food handling or preparation along with two years of supervisory experience. The candidate must be physically capable of lifting up to 25 pounds occasionally and willing to travel locally between campuses when required. Passing a criminal history background check and holding a valid IVP Level One Fingerprint Clearance Card is mandatory.
Legacy Traditional Schools offers a supportive work environment where employees are encouraged to grow, learn, and have fun while doing their best work. The organization provides industry-leading pay, referral bonuses, paid time off, and comprehensive healthcare benefits including medical, dental, and vision. Additional benefits include discounted onsite childcare, student enrollment priority, retirement plans, tuition reimbursement, and career advancement opportunities through training and mentoring. This position invites dedicated individuals to ignite their career in an environment that values education, teamwork, and service excellence. Apply today to be a part of a team that is making a meaningful impact through education and dedicated service.
