Job Description

KinderCare Learning Companies is a renowned leader in early childhood education, offering a broad spectrum of care and educational programs designed to nurture young learners across the United States. As the first and only early childhood education provider to receive the prestigious Gallup Exceptional Workplace Award, KinderCare stands out for its commitment to an outstanding workplace culture and exceptional service to families. Operating over 2,000 sites and centers across 40 states and the District of Columbia, KinderCare serves a diverse range of families with high-quality, research-backed, and customizable childcare programs. Their brands including KinderCare Learning Centers, Champions, and Crème de la Crème, provide environments where children can grow confidently, friendships can flourish, and learners become well-prepared for the future.

This position as a School Housekeeper at KinderCare Learning Companies offers a meaningful way to contribute directly to the health and safety of the children in early education environments. The role centers on maintaining clean, orderly, and safe facilities which are essential to children's wellbeing and a positive educational experience. As a School Housekeeper, you will be an integral part of the educational ecosystem, ensuring classrooms, restrooms, hallways, and floors are well-maintained and hygienic. The duties encompass a wide variety of custodial responsibilities, including the safe handling and operation of cleaning equipment and chemicals, following KinderCare’s waste disposal and recycling policies, and performing thorough cleaning to support a healthy campus environment.

Beyond daily cleaning tasks, the role of a School Housekeeper requires physical stamina and adherence to safety standards to protect both the staff and children. This includes lifting heavy items, bending, climbing, and transporting equipment as needed. The job requires clear communication skills in English to effectively understand and carry out instructions and to interact with children and families. The compensation reflects the value placed on this role, offering an hourly rate between $17.35 and $18.50, with an additional $3.00 per hour premium for classroom hours worked in Minnesota funded by the Great Start Grant Compensation Support Program.

Joining the KinderCare team means being part of a supportive environment where employees are valued and provided resources to balance work and life effectively. Benefits include discounted child care, comprehensive medical, dental, and vision coverage, mental health assistance, health and wellness programs, paid time off, and various employee discounts. Working at KinderCare gives you an opportunity to make a lasting impact in early childhood education while enjoying a supportive and inclusive work culture that fosters personal and professional growth. With its dedication to diversity and equal opportunity, KinderCare Learning Companies invites qualified candidates from all backgrounds to contribute to their mission of building confident children, strong families, and thriving communities nationwide.
