The role of School Housekeeper at KinderCare is fundamental in creating and maintaining a clean, safe, and orderly environment conducive to children’s learning and development. This position entails a variety of custodial duties including cleaning classrooms, restrooms, hallways, and floors using appropriate cleaning tools and chemicals safely and effectively. The School Housekeeper also manages waste disposal in alignment with KinderCare’s waste removal and recycling policies to promote environmental responsibility. This role is not just about cleanliness but about ensuring the safety and comfort of every child and family that walks through the center’s doors.
The position offers an hourly wage range of $17.35 to $18.50, with an additional $3.00 per hour premium on all classroom hours worked in the state of Minnesota. This premium is funded through the Minnesota Great Start Grant Compensation Support Program, highlighting KinderCare’s commitment to rewarding and supporting its employees.

Job Requirements
- At least one year of janitorial experience or any equivalent combination of experience and/or education
- Work safely in an environment containing chemicals, cleaning materials, dust, and noise
- Understand and carry out oral and written directions
- Ability to transport products and equipment from room to room
- Perform physical activities such as lifting heavy items up to 50 lbs unassisted, bending, standing, climbing, twisting, and walking
- Read, write, understand, and speak English to communicate with children and their parents
Job Qualifications
- At least one year of janitorial experience or any equivalent combination of experience and/or education from which comparable knowledge, skills, and abilities have been achieved
- Ability to understand and carry out oral and written directions
