The School Housekeeper role at KinderCare offers a unique opportunity to impact children’s daily environments in a meaningful way. Job Requirements

  • high school diploma or equivalent
  • at least one year of janitorial experience or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • ability to work safely with chemicals and cleaning materials
  • physical capability to lift up to 50 pounds unassisted, bend, stand, climb, twist, and walk
  • ability to read, write, understand, and speak English
  • reliable and punctual
  • ability to follow verbal and written instructions
  • good interpersonal skills

Job Qualifications

  • at least one year of janitorial experience or any equivalent combination of experience and/or education from which comparable knowledge, skills, and abilities have been achieved
  • ability to work safely in an environment containing chemicals, cleaning materials, dust, and noise
  • understanding and ability to carry out oral and written directions
  • ability to transport products and equipment from room to room
  • effective communication skills in English to interact with children and their parents

Job Duties

  • perform cleaning duties such as cleaning classrooms, floors, restrooms, and hallways
  • operate cleaning equipment and use designated chemicals and other cleaning products safely and in accordance with instructions
  • collect and dispose of garbage and waste according to KinderCare's waste removal and recycling policies
  • maintain a safe and orderly environment for children and staff
  • monitor cleaning supplies and report shortages
  • adhere to all safety guidelines and protocols
  • support team members in maintaining cleanliness throughout the center
