Job Duties
- determine and develop plans for efficient service, equipment, facilities, and operations in consultation with principal and School Food Service Branch
- manage and direct daily food service operations
- review and revise internal operating procedures
- establish and maintain high standards of quality control for food production and distribution
- supervise preparation of approved menus and serving of reimbursable meals under USDA meal pattern requirements
- modify menus to accommodate dietary needs of students
- participate in interview and selection of food service employees
- plan, direct, schedule, and evaluate work of subordinates
- provide orientation and training on work practices, equipment operations, safety and sanitation, portion control, and recipe utilization
- estimate and order food and supplies
- arrange receipt and storage of goods
- maintain inventory, financial reports, and related records
- monitor and control expenditures and maintain assigned budget
- review, approve, and process invoices for payment
- inspect kitchen, dining areas, and food service facilities for health and safety compliance
- schedule and supervise maintenance and repair of equipment
- coordinate satellite food service operations when necessary
