Job Requirements

  • High school or GED equivalent
  • Certificate associate or bachelor’s degree in food service culinary arts or related field preferred
  • 2 plus years of experience cooking
  • Experience working in a large institution preferred
  • ServSafe certification
  • CPR and first aid certification
  • Kitchen manager license

Job Duties

  • Create update and follow the school HACCP plan
  • Knowledge of operations of a school cafeteria
  • Estimate food quantities and requisition proper amounts for economical food service
  • Understand basic math and measurements
  • Operate standard cafeteria equipment and appliances
  • Maintain records and prepare reports
  • Follow sanitation and safety practices related to food preparation and service
