The role offered is for a School Custodian, specializing in maintaining cleanliness and sanitation in K-12 schools, colleges, or university campuses. This position is ideal for individuals just entering the workforce or those returning with limited prior experience or education since on-the-job training is provided. Working within ABM’s facility services framework, the School Custodian is responsible for general cleaning duties in assigned areas such as classrooms, hallways, restrooms, locker rooms, offices, stairways, and food preparation zones. The candidate will utilize proper cleaning agents, equipment, and procedures to ensure hygienic and safe environments conducive to learning and working.

In addition to routine cleaning like sweeping, mopping, dusting, and trash removal, the custodian is expected to handle specialized tasks like polishing hard surfaces, managing recycling processes, and conducting minor seasonal outdoor maintenance such as leaf raking and snow removal. The role requires attention to detail, effective communication with supervisors and co-workers, and adherence to safety and quality standards set by ABM, clients, and regulatory bodies.
