At ABM, we are currently seeking a reliable and experienced School Custodian to join our team in a K-12 school, college, or university campus environment. This role is an excellent opportunity for individuals entering or returning to the workforce, as it requires limited prior experience and education with on-the-job training provided. The School Custodian will be responsible for performing general cleaning duties in designated areas, ensuring that facilities remain safe, clean, and welcoming for students, staff, and visitors alike.

The primary responsibilities of the School Custodian will include cleaning and maintaining classrooms, hallways, restrooms, locker rooms, offices, stairways, and other assigned areas. This includes sweeping, mopping, removing debris, cleaning spills, dusting furniture and fixtures, polishing hard surfaces, and emptying trash receptacles regularly. The custodian will also be expected to follow company protocols for the use of chemical cleaners and equipment to prevent damage to floors and fixtures. Additionally, the School Custodian will notify management of any repair needs or maintenance issues and help maintain recycling efforts by properly sorting materials.

Seasonal and incidental duties such as sweeping walkways, raking leaves, cutting grass, and removing snow may also be part of this role, supporting the upkeep of exterior spaces. Complying with all safety, security, compliance, and quality standards set by ABM, client institutions, and regulatory authorities is essential to the role.
