The company is currently seeking a School Cook - Floater to join their team. This position plays a vital role in supporting the delivery of nutritious meals to young children attending their early learning centers. The School Cook will be responsible for preparing and maintaining high-quality, healthy food offerings that meet the standards set by the Colorado Adult Child Food Program (CACFP). As a floater, this role requires flexibility to work across multiple centers, providing essential support wherever it is needed. The position is full-time with a Monday to Friday schedule, offering shifts from 7:00 am to 4:00 pm and a competitive wage of $20.03 per hour. This role is particularly suited for individuals who are dedicated to promoting the health and well-being of young children through nutritious meal preparation and who thrive in a dynamic, team-oriented environment.

The School Cook will be tasked with maintaining an orderly and clean kitchen environment, ensuring that all materials and equipment are stored safely and in compliance with regulatory guidelines. The ability to engage warmly and professionally with coworkers and families is essential, fostering a welcoming atmosphere that supports the broader educational mission of Mile High Early Learning. The role also includes responsibilities such as adhering to food safety standards and regulatory requirements, contributing to the overall quality and consistency of the meal program. Job Requirements

  • Must be 18 or older
  • reliable transportation as this position will float from center to center as needed
  • pass CBI background check and post-employment medical examination
  • must be able to speak read write and interpret written materials and oral information in English
  • high school diploma or GED preferred
  • one year prior institutional cooking experience preferred
  • experience with Child and Adult Care Food Program (CACFP) preferred
  • math skills to meet position requirements
