Job Description
Genuine Foods is a dynamic and growing social enterprise dedicated to transforming food environments in schools and workplaces. By providing great-tasting, wholesome meals made from genuine ingredients, Genuine Foods actively enhances health, productivity, and happiness within the communities it serves. The company specializes in food service management but goes beyond the simple act of serving food. Through fresh, scratch-made meals combined with unparalleled service and meaningful enrichment programs, Genuine Foods is committed to creating nourishing experiences that foster community and personal well-being.
Genuine Foods operates with strong core values centered around trustworthiness, personal accountability, people-first approach, and entrepreneurial spirit. These values guide every aspect of the company’s operations, from commitment to quality and transparency to a culture of empathy and cultural responsiveness. Genuine Foods believes in teamwork, hospitality, and serving every person with respect, ensuring that the food and service they provide make a real difference in the lives of students, educators, and employees in workplace environments.
This open Cook position is located within a school setting and offers a full-time schedule, Monday through Friday. Eligible candidates will receive a $500 sign-on bonus paid after 90 days of employment. The Cook will have the opportunity to work with a supportive and respectful team while using their skills to prepare and serve food that adheres to daily menus and strict recipe standards. The role presents excellent opportunities to learn and develop culinary skills that can lead to advanced career paths within the company.
The ideal Cook will enjoy working in a vibrant school environment, showing a genuine passion for supporting students and educators with nutritious meals. Attention to food safety, sanitation, and compliance with USDA National School Lunch Program requirements is paramount. Cooks work closely with team members to ensure timely food preparation and service. Maintaining a clean, organized workspace and assisting with various kitchen duties are key to success in this role. Genuine Foods fosters a culture where workers are encouraged to demonstrate a positive attitude, strong work ethic, flexibility, and punctuality.
Working as a Cook at Genuine Foods means contributing to a mission greater than food service. It means helping students enhance their minds, bodies, and happiness through carefully crafted meals served with care and consistency. As part of a team that values integrity, accountability, and humanity, this role offers more than just a job— it provides an opportunity to be part of meaningful change through food. Along with competitive benefits such as paid time off, medical, dental, and vision insurance, and opportunities for career growth, Genuine Foods supports the professional development and well-being of its employees. Join a company that is dedicated to making a positive impact by delivering quality meals and uplifted service every day.
