Job Description

Rise Academy is a reputable educational establishment committed to fostering the God-given potential of students through excellence, care, and community. Our institution values a nurturing environment where every student is supported to succeed academically, socially, and personally. We believe that a well-rounded education includes not only engaging academics but also a strong emphasis on student well-being and healthy living. To align with this vision, we are devoted to providing nutritious meals that support learning and overall health in a welcoming, safe, and organized school setting.

We are currently seeking a dependable, organized, and service-oriented School Chef to join our community in a part-time capacity. This role is pivotal in overseeing the daily food service operations within our school, primarily serving high school students and staff. The selected candidate will be responsible for managing all aspects of our food program, including meal planning, preparation, purchasing, inventory management, and maintaining compliance with health and safety regulations. On a daily basis, the School Chef will ensure that meals are nutritious, appealing, and served on time, contributing significantly to the energy levels and satisfaction of our students.

The ideal candidate will be a trained culinary professional with hands-on experience in managing a small-scale food operation. This role requires someone who can independently coordinate and execute daily kitchen activities while promoting a clean and safe environment. In addition to culinary skills, the position demands excellent organizational skills, the ability to manage budgets related to food purchasing, and a commitment to minimizing food waste through effective planning. The School Chef will collaborate closely with school leadership, supporting events and dietary needs consistent with student preferences and health requirements.

This opportunity is perfect for culinary professionals passionate about impacting youth nutrition and well-being within an educational environment. The part-time position typically runs from early morning to early afternoon hours, with variability based on meal preparation and special event needs. Compensation for this role ranges from $18 to $22 per hour. At Rise Academy, we pride ourselves on fostering a team environment where every person values hospitality, professionalism, and contributing positively to the student experience. Join us in our mission to nurture and serve our school community through excellent food service.
