Job Description

High Point Christian School (HPCS) is a well-established educational institution located in Madison, Wisconsin, dedicated to providing a Christ-centered learning environment for students from pre-kindergarten through eighth grade. Founded in 1975 as a ministry of what is now High Point Church, HPCS has long been committed to fostering a safe, caring, and supportive community where students can thrive academically, spiritually, and socially. The school is part of the Impact Christian Schools network, which enhances its mission to deliver quality education rooted in Christian values. Situated in Madison, a city highly regarded for its quality of life, excellent healthcare, vibrant cultural scene, and beautiful outdoor amenities, HPCS offers families a unique blend of nurturing education within a dynamic and supportive community.

The role of Elementary and Middle School Chef at High Point Christian School is a vital position focused on managing and leading the school’s lunch program for the '26-27 school year. The selected candidate will be responsible for overseeing every aspect of the food service operation, including menu development, procurement, food preparation, and maintaining cleanliness and safety standards within the kitchen. This full-time position pays an hourly rate of $25.00 and includes a comprehensive benefits package such as health, dental, and vision insurance options, life and disability insurance, a 401(k) plan, tuition discounts for employees’ dependent children, as well as holiday pay, paid time off, and summers off. The chef will work closely with the lunchroom coordinator to ensure the meal program is cost-effective, nutritious, and aligned with the school’s operational needs.

The chef’s responsibilities will center on creating balanced and appealing menus that serve between 80 and 150 students daily, harmonizing student food preferences with sound nutrition. The role requires someone detail-oriented and proactive to manage food orders, inventory control, cost management, and maintaining high standards of cleanliness and food safety within the kitchen environment. The successful candidate will also contribute to maintaining positive relationships with staff and volunteers, ensuring smooth communication and teamwork. Experience working in a school or similar food service setting, leadership capabilities, and a passion for serving children’s nutritional needs align perfectly with the values and goals upheld by High Point Christian School. This position is ideal for an individual who values a collaborative, supportive workplace and embraces the mission of a Christian educational institution.
