BRAINATION is currently seeking dedicated Cafeteria Workers to join its food service team. This role is essential for supporting the nutritional and operational needs of the school by preparing and serving quality food in accordance with established menu plans and safety standards. The ideal candidate will help maintain a clean, safe, and welcoming food service environment while ensuring adherence to sanitation guidelines, food handling protocols, and departmental policies. The Cafeteria Worker will play a crucial role in fostering a collaborative team atmosphere and contributing to the smooth operation of the school’s food service program. This position requires individuals who value hygiene, portion control, and serving food that meets or exceeds quality expectations for the benefit of the students and staff entrusted to the care of BRAINATION's San Angelo Impact School.

Job Requirements

High school diploma or equivalent
Previous school food service experience preferred
Food Handler Certificate required
Must have reliable transportation
Ability to understand written and verbal food preparation and safety instructions
Working knowledge of kitchen equipment and food production procedures
Ability to operate large and small kitchen equipment and tools
Ability to perform basic math
Must have satisfactory outcome of fingerprinting check prior to starting employment
Non-refundable fee paid by employee

Job Qualifications

Job Duties

Prepare quality food according to a planned menu of tested and uniform recipes
Serve food according to meal schedules, departmental policies and procedures
Practice and promote portion control and proper use of leftovers
Store and handle food items and supplies safely and according to established procedures
Maintain a clean and organized storage area
Operate tools and equipment according to prescribed safety standards
Follow established procedures to meet high standards of cleanliness, health and safety
Keep garbage collection containers and areas neat and sanitary
Correct unsafe conditions in work area and promptly report any conditions that are not immediately correctable to supervisor
Maintain personal appearance and hygiene
Handle and record cashier functions accurately
Maintain daily food production records
Promote teamwork and interaction with fellow staff members
Perform other duties as assigned
