Job Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Prior experience working with children or in a transportation-related role preferred
- Ability to communicate clearly and effectively
- Capacity to assist and supervise children of various ages and needs
- Ability to provide basic first aid
- Physical ability to lift and carry moderately heavy items
- Capability to operate wheelchair lifts and secure wheelchairs
- Willingness to participate in required training and safety programs
- Reliable transportation to and from work
Job Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Experience working with children, especially in a supervision or caregiving role
- Knowledge of safety regulations and emergency procedures related to student transportation
- Ability to provide basic first aid
- Experience assisting individuals with disabilities or special needs
- Effective communication skills
- Patience and ability to manage student behavior constructively
Job Duties
- Supervise and monitor students on the school bus to ensure safety and maintain order
- Assist students with boarding and exiting the bus safely
- Ensure students are properly secured with seatbelts or other safety restraints
- Communicate behavioral issues or safety concerns to the bus driver and school administrators
- Assist with emergency evacuations and safety drills
- Help students with special needs or disabilities during transport
- Assist with operating wheelchair lifts and securing wheelchairs
- Provide first aid or handle medical emergencies if needed
- Engage students in appropriate activities during the ride
- Assist driver with pre- and post-trip vehicle inspections
- Follow proper procedures for student pick-up and drop-off
- Enforce bus rules and safety regulations
- Report any incidents
- Maintain a clean and orderly bus environment
- Serve as a positive role model and representative of Zum
- Communicate effectively with bus driver, parents, teachers and staff
- Complete required documentation and reports if needed
- Participate in required training programs
