The district is committed to fostering an inclusive and supportive atmosphere where qualified professionals can collaborate with educators and families to enhance student success. The role of the Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP) is crucial in this setting, contributing to the comprehensive educational experience by addressing communication needs that affect learning and social interaction.
As a Speech-Language Pathologist working in this school district, you will engage directly with students who require specialized support to overcome various speech, language, voice, and fluency challenges. This contract position offers a rewarding chance to apply your clinical expertise in a dynamic school setting while benefiting from a supportive team culture composed of educators, therapists, and administrative staff dedicated to student welfare.
The position comes with competitive compensation ranging from $47.53 to $67.53 per hour, with potential additional benefits such as healthcare coverage, housing, meals, and incidentals for eligible candidates. Employment is offered on a contract basis with an expected term of 60 days from the posting date. This role also includes comprehensive benefits like medical, dental, and vision insurance options, making it a compelling opportunity for licensed SLP professionals seeking to advance their careers and impact young lives positively.
In this role, you will be responsible for conducting detailed assessments of students' speech and language abilities to identify specific disorders, designing individualized treatment plans that align with students' Individualized Education Plans (IEPs), and delivering targeted therapy in both group and one-on-one settings. Your ability to document progress accurately and participate actively in IEP meetings will be vital to assure continuity and effectiveness of care. Collaboration with teachers, support staff, and families is essential to maximize the therapeutic outcomes and integrate communication goals across educational and home environments.
The school district values professionals who bring not only clinical skills but also strong interpersonal and communication abilities, cultural competence, adaptability to diverse student needs and caseloads, and a passion for working in pediatric and school settings. Advanced professional credentials such as a valid California SLP license, ASHA Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC-SLP), or eligibility are required. Candidates completing their Clinical Fellowship Year (CFY) are considered for this position, emphasizing the district's support for emerging professionals' growth.
