Job Description
Novolex is a leading manufacturer specializing in food, beverage, and specialty packaging serving a wide range of industries including foodservice, restaurant delivery, carryout, food processing, grocery and retail, and various industrial sectors. With extensive expertise in manufacturing and sourcing across a diverse array of materials such as resin, paper, molded fiber, and aluminum, Novolex offers customers more than 120 product categories, 250 brands, and over 39,000 SKUs, accommodating both stock and customized packaging solutions. The company's commitment to sustainability is deeply rooted in three core pillars: products, operations, and people. This foundational vision supports their ambitious growth goals and underpins numerous initiatives dedicated to reducing environmental impact and fostering social responsibility throughout all levels of the business.
The role of the Scheduler at Novolex is pivotal for the efficient operation of their manufacturing plant. This position entails the high-level management of the plant's production schedule, serving as the crucial communication link between the plant and corporate planning teams, ensuring alignment and smooth coordination of manufacturing priorities. The Scheduler’s daily tasks involve interdepartmental collaboration aimed at achieving set goals and key performance indicators encompassing safety, quality, productivity, efficiency, on-time shipments, inventory control, and financial outcomes. Responsibilities include creating and maintaining the master production schedule on a daily basis, closely coordinating with corporate planners on production timing and maintenance schedules, and ensuring clear communication to all employees involved in the production process about order requirements and customer needs. This role requires active cooperation with other departments to resolve any scheduling discrepancies promptly and to optimize use of labor and resources in a cost-effective manner.
Further, the Scheduler facilitates the Materials Requirements Planning (MRP) process and manages inventory levels, working in close partnership with vendors to ensure timely supply to meet production demands. The role demands analytical capabilities to review production floor status through input/output control reporting and to reconcile output and financial differences or inaccuracies effectively. The Scheduler is also responsible for maintaining master data records for packaging components, work-in-process items, and finished goods. This role is critical for driving operational excellence and sustaining Novolex's reputation for quality and customer satisfaction. Overall, this is an exciting opportunity for experienced professionals with strong planning, communication, and analytical skills to contribute to a market leader committed to sustainability and innovation.
