Child Saving Institute (CSI), founded in Omaha in 1892, is a reputable nonprofit organization dedicated to championing the well-being of children and families. For over a century, CSI has been a trusted pillar in the community, prioritizing the emotional, mental, and physical health of children to help them thrive. Their mission revolves around creating safe, nurturing, and supportive environments that empower children and families to overcome challenges and achieve their fullest potential. Established with deep roots in Omaha, CSI continues to expand its impact through various programs and services designed to promote healthy childhood development and family stability.

As a Cook at CSI, you will be a vital member of the team responsible for preparing nutritious meals that cater to the dietary needs of children enrolled in CSI programs. This part-time position, located primarily at 6908 Mercy Road Omaha, NE 68106 with potential travel to 4545 Dodge Street Omaha, NE 68132, offers a competitive starting wage of $18.50 per hour and a schedule from Monday to Friday, 9:30 AM to 2:30 PM. Your role will involve preparing, cooking, and storing food according to regulatory standards to ensure safety, quality, and nutritional value. You will maintain a clean and organized kitchen workspace, adhering to all health and safety protocols.

Working at CSI means more than just cooking; it is about being part of a collaborative and compassionate culture that values growth, fun, and impact. You will engage in a supportive work environment where your contributions directly affect the lives of children and families served by the organization. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys working in a dynamic, child-focused atmosphere and desires to make a meaningful difference every day.

CSI is proud to offer opportunities for personal and professional development, providing a pathway for career growth within the organization. Beyond the rewarding nature of the work, employees benefit from a comprehensive package including medical, dental, and vision insurance options; paid vacation and sick leave; 10 paid holidays annually; 401(k) matching up to 5%; referral bonuses; tuition reimbursement; and discounted on-site childcare tuition. The position also offers birthing and non-birthing leaves at full pay and assures work-life balance by guaranteeing no night or weekend shifts.

This role is designed for individuals with a positive and reliable work ethic who have at least six months of cooking experience, ideally in environments involving children or youth. The ability to communicate in a nurturing and educational manner is essential, as is flexibility to work across multiple CSI locations. Own transportation meeting agency vehicle standards and a valid driver's license are required to support occasional travel between sites.

Joining CSI means embracing an opportunity to become part of a respected, community-centered organization dedicated to enhancing the lives of children and families. This part-time Cook position at CSI offers a unique blend of meaningful work, professional support, and valuable benefits, inviting passionate individuals committed to making a genuine impact in their community to apply.
