The SCA Lead Food Service Worker role at Sodexo, based at the San Jose Job Corps center, is a full-time position offering a competitive pay rate of $24.00 per hour. This position primarily involves working on weekends in morning, afternoon, and/or evening shifts, with specific scheduling details provided during the interview process. As a SCA Lead Food Service Worker, you will be a key player in ensuring smooth daily food service operations and enhancing the overall quality of life for those served by your team. This role requires multitasking capabilities and a supportive attitude toward maintaining a healthy and safe work environment.
Your responsibilities include providing support to management by overseeing essential food service functions and staff activities throughout your shift. You will work hands-on in food preparation, presentation, and service across various food service settings such as cafeterias and delicatessens. The job may extend to cooking, receiving and unloading supplies, storing stock properly, handling special customer orders, and managing payment transactions. Reliability and punctuality are critical as you are expected to attend work consistently and on time.

Job Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent
- one or more years of related work experience
- ability to work weekends including mornings, afternoons, and/or evenings

Job Duties
- Provide support to management in the daily oversight of key functions and employees during the normal course of business
- serve as a cafeteria and/or delicatessen/bakery worker helping in the preparation, presentation, and serving of many food items
- assist in preparing, cooking, receiving and unloading trucks, and storing stock
- take special orders or unusual food requests from customers
- take payment from customers
- attend work and show for scheduled shift on time with satisfactory regularity
- perform other duties as assigned based on business necessities and client requirements
