The current opportunity is for a Satellite Server role within the food service department at St. Jude Children's Research Hospital. This position is integral to the daily operations of various satellite dining areas and the main cafeteria, ensuring that food preparation, presentation, and customer service meet the hospital's high standards. The Satellite Server is responsible for performing cold prep and pantry duties, preparing menu items according to standardized recipes, maintaining equipment safely, and serving guests courteously while adhering to food safety regulations. This role also involves cashier duties, handling transactions accurately and securely.
Scheduled from 10:45 a.m. to 7:15 p.m., Monday through Friday with rotating weekends, this position demands reliability and a commitment to excellence. The Satellite Server helps maintain the cleanliness and sanitation of work areas, operates foodservice equipment following department policies, and ensures proper food storage and temperature control to uphold safety and quality. Candidates will play a key part in creating a pleasant dining experience for hospital staff, patients, and visitors by providing prompt and courteous service, efficiently managing the serving line, and preparing service areas for daily operations including stocking and setting up supplies.
Candidates should possess at least a high school diploma or GED and preferably have one year of related experience in food preparation, cooking, or cashiering. Certification through an ANSI-accredited Food Handler Training program such as ServSafe is required within 30 days of hire and must be maintained throughout employment. Physically, the role involves standing, walking, occasional lifting up to 50 pounds, and adhering to safety regulations in a fast-paced dining environment.

Job Requirements
- High school diploma or GED
- one year of food preparation, cooking, and/or cashier experience preferred
- certification through ANSI accredited Food Handler Training Program required within 30 days of hire
- maintain current food handler certification throughout employment
- ability to stand and walk for extended periods
- ability to occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds
