The role of Satellite Server (part-time, 60% FTE with weekday evening shifts) is crucial in supporting daily food service operations within St. Jude’s facilities. This position involves managing cold prep and pantry duties, preparing menu items, and serving customers in satellite service areas, ensuring food safety, proper sanitation, and compliance with departmental protocols. The Satellite Server contributes directly to the positive dining experience of patients, staff, and visitors while adhering to strict hygiene and safety standards. Responsibilities include following standardized recipes for salads, sandwiches, meats, vegetables, and other menu offerings, utilizing portion control, operating food preparation equipment safely, and managing cash register duties with meticulous care for accuracy. The role also involves the preparation and setting up of satellite service areas, maintaining cleanliness and organization, and assisting in inventory and supply requisitions to assure smooth daily operations. This position requires attentiveness, punctuality, and a team-oriented approach in a dynamic healthcare food service environment.

This role offers an hourly wage estimated between $20.00 and $29.00, reflective of skills, experience, and certifications. Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED required
  • one year of food preparation, cooking, and/or cashier experience preferred
  • ServSafe Food Handler Training Certificate or equivalent ANSI-accredited food handler certification required within 30 days of hire and must be maintained
  • ability to stand and walk frequently
  • ability to lift and move up to 50 pounds
  • ability to comply with federal, state, and local safety and health regulations
  • availability to work weekday evening shifts
  • ability to maintain personal hygiene and dress code
  • regular and predictable attendance
  • ability to operate cash register
  • ability to communicate courteously with customers

Job Duties
