The Restaurant Server position at Pacific Hospitality Group is a pivotal role that involves delivering exceptional dining experiences through attentive, friendly, and efficient service. The server is responsible for greeting guests warmly, presenting menus with detailed explanations of items and specials, and making knowledgeable recommendations. They play a key role in ensuring orders are taken accurately, food and drink are served promptly, and service standards are consistently met. This role also involves proactive guest engagement such as anticipating needs, addressing any concerns with professionalism, and promoting menu items to enhance the overall customer experience. Servers must maintain cleanliness and organization in their work areas while collaborating as part of the larger restaurant team. This position is ideal for individuals who thrive in fast-paced environments and possess strong communication and interpersonal skills. Candidates should be comfortable handling cash and POS systems and have a flexible schedule to cover nights, weekends, and holidays. Physical stamina is also required to stand and walk for long periods and carry trays up to 30 pounds.

Job Requirements

  • high school diploma or equivalent preferred
  • previous restaurant, hospitality, or customer service experience preferred
  • knowledge of food and beverage service standards preferred
  • strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment
  • basic math, cash-handling, and POS system skills
  • ability to work flexible schedules, including nights, weekends, and holidays
  • food handler and alcohol service certifications as required by local regulations

Job Duties

  • greet guests promptly and professionally upon arrival
  • present menus, explain menu items, specials, and promotions
  • make recommendations and answer questions regarding food and beverage offerings
  • provide personalized, attentive service throughout the dining experience
  • anticipate guest needs and respond promptly to requests
  • address guest concerns professionally and notify management when necessary
  • accurately take food and beverage orders and enter them into the POS system
  • serve food and beverages according to established service standards
  • ensure orders are prepared and delivered correctly and in a timely manner
  • monitor guest satisfaction and check back regularly during service
  • upsell menu items, beverages, desserts, and specialty offerings
  • deliver checks and process payments accurately
  • comply with all alcohol service regulations and responsible beverage service practices
  • set up dining areas, tables, and service stations before service periods
  • maintain cleanliness and organization of assigned stations and dining areas
  • complete side work, opening duties, and closing responsibilities
  • assist with resetting and preparing tables for incoming guests
  • maintain knowledge of menu changes, daily specials, and restaurant promotions
  • follow all food safety, sanitation, and company policies
  • support team members and assist other restaurant areas as needed
