The role in question is primarily centered around maintaining safe and sanitary conditions within the store, focusing on upholding public health standards through effective cleaning practices. The individual in this position will be tasked with a variety of maintenance and cleaning duties crucial to store operations. These include cleaning public restrooms, replenishing supplies such as towels, tissues, and soap, as well as the removal and disposal of trash throughout the store. Further responsibilities encompass cleaning infrastructure elements such as walls, vents, and ceilings, pest control actions including rodent and insect extermination, and maintenance tasks like dismantling, cleaning, and reassembling refrigerated cases to ensure optimal hygienic conditions.

Equipment operation forms part of the job, especially the use of machinery for cleaning floors, shampooing, and vacuuming mats and rugs, as well as managing cleaning agents with proper mixing of cleansers and sanitizers to ensure both safety and effectiveness. Seasonal duties may involve spreading ice melt and shoveling snow from entrances and sidewalks to uphold safety during winter months. Minor equipment maintenance and replacing light bulbs or fluorescent tubes as necessary are also part of daily tasks.

In addition to physical cleaning duties, this position demands strong interpersonal skills, including the ability to work cooperatively in high-paced, sometimes stressful environments. The employee must be capable of managing conflicts nonconfrontationally and cooperating with team members and customers with honesty and integrity.
