The Sanitation Technician role at Makers Pride is a vital position within their Food Safety Team. Job Requirements
- Ability to lift 50 lbs unassisted
- Ability to lift 50 to 100 lbs with assistance
- Ability to stand and walk up to 90% of the time
- Ability to climb stairs and work at heights without disorientation
- Ability to work in hot, wet, and/or tight spaces
- Ability to crawl and work on knees and ladders
- Specific vision abilities including close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus
- Must be a self-starter
Job Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED preferred but not required
- At least six months experience in a sanitation production environment preferred
- Basic math skills to calculate and measure cleansers and sanitizers
- Sufficient English reading and writing skills to understand equipment instructions, standard operating procedures, and documentation
- Good verbal and written communication skills
- Good organizational skills
- Ability to prioritize work schedules
- Ability to understand and follow safety policies and procedures
- Ability to work in a team environment
- Ability to learn new tasks and methods of working
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
Job Duties
- Disassemble and reassemble critical equipment and pumps
- Understand equipment instructions, manuals, specifications, and safety requirements
- Read instruments and record all required data
- Maintain cleanliness of all work areas
- Remove trash and debris
- Follow established procedures in the cleaning and sanitation of idle production equipment
- Wet wash rooms and production lines
- Complete required reporting to reflect activity
- Advise supervisor when supplies need to be ordered
- Clean and sanitize mixing room, production areas, packaging areas, walls and ceilings, all equipment including elevated conveyors, and exterior plant areas as needed
- Perform food safety and quality testing including titration levels, APC swabs, allergen testing, and LRN swabs
- Safely operate COP tub, floor scrubber, pallet jacks, boom lift, and scissor lift after training
