The Sanitation Technician role at TreeHouse Foods is vital for ensuring the cleanliness and safety of the company’s production facilities. This full-time, night shift position based in Northlake, Texas, operates on a 2-2-3 continental shift schedule, covering hours from 6 pm to 6:30 am. The technician’s primary responsibility is to carry out cleaning and sanitizing procedures on equipment, production areas, and storage spaces while adhering strictly to FDA, USDA, state, and local regulations, as well as internal company standards. This role is key to maintaining food safety and product quality, requiring vigilance in identifying and reporting any sanitation or equipment concerns to supervisors.
Sanitation Technicians at TreeHouse Foods handle a range of tasks including the execution of cleaning protocols, assembly and maintenance of sanitation equipment, mixing and applying industrial cleaning agents, performing Clean-in-Place (CIP) procedures, and using various operational equipment such as forklifts, boom lifts, scissor lifts, and floor scrubbers. Safety is paramount, with mandatory use of personal protective equipment (PPE) and adherence to safety processes when handling hazardous chemicals. The position demands physical stamina and the ability to work in various plant areas, some of which may involve elevated tasks or overtime.

Job Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Previous experience in sanitation or production environment preferred
- Ability to work night shifts on a 2-2-3 continental schedule
- Must follow safety protocols and use personal protective equipment
- Willingness to perform physically demanding tasks
- Ability to operate machinery after training
- Effective communication skills in English
Job Qualifications
- Ability to read write and communicate effectively in English
- Capability to pass forklift certification
- Experience working in a manufacturing or industrial environment where PPE is required
- Ability and willingness to work safely around hazardous chemicals with training provided
- Physical ability to stand and walk for entire shift and perform frequent bending lifting and squatting
Job Duties
- Follow and execute all cleaning and sanitation protocols for assigned plant equipment ensuring compliance with microbiological standards
- Safely assemble disassemble maintain and report issues with equipment used in sanitation and production areas
- Properly mix and apply industrial cleaners and sanitizers according to label instructions and safety requirements
- Perform CIP (Clean-in-Place) procedures and complete additional sanitation tasks such as dry ice blasting and floor scrubbing
- Operate equipment safely including forklifts boom lifts scissor lifts and floor scrubbers with training provided where required
- Use all required personal protective equipment (PPE) and communicate any sanitation or equipment concerns to supervisors
- Work in all plant areas as assigned including overtime and elevated work and carry out additional duties as needed to support production
