This particular role is a full-time opportunity based in Fresno, CA, with a scheduled shift from 10:00 pm to 6:30 am, Tuesday through Saturday. Offering a salary range between $80,000 and $83,000 plus bonus, this position focuses on sanitation management within the company's processing facility. The role requires a responsible, self-motivated individual who will support all sanitation functions, ensuring that the facility, equipment, and surrounding grounds maintain stringent cleanliness standards. The position demands effective collaboration and communication with various internal teams, including operations, maintenance, and management.
The sanitation specialist will be accountable for the daily sanitation of all processing lines, maintaining master sanitation schedules, and verifying sanitation records. They are expected to follow established safety and sanitation procedures, including lock-out/tag-out protocols and the use of appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE). Monitoring the correct use and concentration of cleaning chemicals is a critical component of this role to ensure compliance with specifications and manufacturer recommendations. Additionally, the individual will be responsible for managing employee timecards, inventory control for cleaning supplies, and training personnel in safety and sanitation Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
The role also involves proactive communication across departments such as Quality Assurance, Production, and Maintenance to facilitate an efficient sanitation process. This includes participating in escalation procedures to promptly address and communicate any issues that arise. The position may also involve performing allergen analysis and equipment swabbing to verify cleanliness standards. Job Requirements
- Help manage the daily sanitation activities conducted by critical cleaning technicians and plant operations team
- maintain master sanitation schedule
- ensure that all equipment is properly cleaned, sanitized, and inspected for cleanliness while following lock-out/tag-out procedures and wearing proper personal protection equipment (PPE) per Sanitation Standard Operating Procedures
- responsible for sanitation record review and verification
- monitor cleaning chemical concentrations to ensure that they comply with specifications and manufacturer's recommendations
- approve employee timecards
- ensure adherence to all safety and sanitation rules and regulations and Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs)
- monitor inventory of cleaning chemicals and supplies
- train and cross-train employees to comply with safety and sanitation SOPs and to use chemicals including acids, chlorines, caustics and quats correctly and safely
- maintain open communication and working relationships with all departments including Quality Assurance, Production and Maintenance
- make recommendations to Sanitation Manager regarding improvements to Sanitation efficiency and/or effectiveness
- participate in the Lyons Escalation Procedure and communicate issues and important information to the appropriate person in a timely manner
- adhere to company policies and core values
- perform absence of allergen analysis
- perform clean equipment swabbing
- may perform other duties as required
Job Qualifications
- High school education is preferred
- minimum 5 years experience in warehousing/manufacturing of foods and beverages
- supervisory experience
- working knowledge of Clean in Place (CIP) preferred
- working knowledge and application of food and beverage manufacturing including kettle mixers, pumps and heaters
- working knowledge of liquid and powder measurement
- food safety knowledge and understanding of Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs)
- experience in food manufacturing environments preferred
- bilingual English/Spanish preferred but not mandatory
