The position of Sanitation Lead at Ditsch USA offers an exciting opportunity for a dedicated professional to play a pivotal role in ensuring the cleanliness and hygiene of the food manufacturing facility. This role is a third-shift position with a pay range of $18 to $20 per hour and includes weekend work as needed. The Sanitation Lead is responsible for coordinating the detailed daily cleaning of equipment and facility structures following strict food safety protocols such as SQF, GMP, and HACCP standards. This role requires managing the sanitation team, supervising the breakdown, cleaning, scrubbing, sanitizing, and reassembly of production equipment, and using specialized cleaning techniques and equipment to maintain a spotless production environment. Additionally, the Sanitation Lead supports chemical training and handling, ensuring all team members are equipped with knowledge about the safe use and storage of cleaning chemicals.

Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • 1-3 years of sanitation experience in a manufacturing setting
  • Ability to read, comprehend, and communicate safety labels on chemical containers
  • Ability to work independently with high attention to detail
  • Physical capability to lift/move objects up to 50 lbs
  • Ability to withstand varied temperature environments (-15 to 110 degrees Fahrenheit)
  • Ability to work in proximity to flashing lights, horns, and powered moving equipment
  • Capability to perform repetitive motions and prolonged standing or sitting
  • Willingness to work third shift hours and weekends as needed
  • Ability to adhere to safety protocols and wear personal protective equipment
  • Ability to communicate effectively in English

Job Qualifications

Job Duties

  • Responsible for daily facility sanitation and custodial duties according to Sanitation Master Schedule
  • Clean all production areas according to SQF regulations, GMP, and sanitation policies
  • Disassemble machines, sanitize, foam rinse, and reassemble production lines for use
  • Clean and sanitize production line operating equipment such as ovens and mixers
  • Use power equipment like floor sweepers, vacuums, scrubbers, mops, and power washers
  • Maintain a working knowledge of equipment and proper LOTO procedure for machinery
  • Conduct regular inspections of the facility to identify sanitation issues and ensure cleanliness standards are met
