Located in Rochester, MN, Kerry’s Applied Health and Nutrition Division specializes in fermented ingredients for the bio-science industry. This division prides itself on delivering clean-label, natural products and maintaining a strong commitment to freshness and quality. This position is full-time, focused on day shift hours from 7:00 AM to 3:30 PM, Monday through Friday, with overtime eligibility. The pay range for this role is between $23.25 and $28.25 per hour, reflecting the company’s pay-for-performance compensation philosophy. The role of Sanitation Lead is critical for ensuring food safety, compliance, and maintaining a clean manufacturing environment. Reporting to the Sanitation Supervisor, this leadership position involves coordinating cleaning activities, monitoring hygienic conditions, and guiding sanitation technicians and plant personnel. The Sanitation Lead must have thorough knowledge of standard operating procedures related to chemical usage, safe handling, and exposure response. Proficiency in operating cleaning equipment like foamers, pressure washers, and hose stations is essential for executing cleaning operations efficiently and safely. This role also entails environmental monitoring, including swabs, air plates, and water testing, to uphold plant cleanliness and product safety.
The successful candidate will exhibit strong leadership and organizational skills, able to train and delegate tasks effectively. They will manage weekly sanitation and chemical inventory tracking and ordering as well as maintaining master sanitation schedules. Identifying and reporting unsafe equipment or malfunctions promptly is part of the responsibilities to ensure a safe work environment. The Sanitation Lead will also collaborate cross-functionally with production and maintenance teams, demonstrating problem-solving skills and a commitment to consistently upholding hygienic production standards. Job Requirements
- High school diploma or GED
- Minimum one year of experience in a food manufacturing environment with an emphasis in sanitation
- Ability to work independently and cross-functionally with production and maintenance teams
- Strong problem-solving skills

Job Duties
- Fully understand all chemical SOPs including proper usage, dilution, safe handling, and exposure response
- Lead cleaning operations using foamers, pressure washers, and hose stations efficiently and safely
- Delegate and train sanitation technicians and plant personnel on maintaining clean and sanitary conditions including floors, railings, ledges, and equipment
- Operate lifts, stepladders, scaffolding, and other equipment safely
- Complete weekly sanitation and chemical inventory tracking and ordering
- Conduct environmental monitoring tasks such as swabs, air plates, and water testing
- Maintain and complete master sanitation schedules after tasks are performed
- Identify and report unsafe equipment conditions or malfunctions immediately
- Perform additional duties as assigned
