The opportunity available is for a Food Safety and Sanitation Supervisor, a key leadership role responsible for enforcing food safety and hygiene policies within the facility. This role involves ensuring that all sanitary standards are met and maintained rigorously, working closely with management to resolve cleaning and safety issues, and leading a sanitation team. The supervisor plays a critical role in maintaining a safe and compliant production environment by implementing sanitation schedules, monitoring chemical usage, conducting inspections, providing employee training, and maintaining detailed records of sanitation activities. This position requires a professional attitude and strong leadership skills to ensure that the sanitation team performs effectively and adheres to all regulatory and company standards.

This supervisory position offers an hourly salary of $23.00 and eligibility for an annual incentive plan alongside a comprehensive benefits package. The benefits include medical, dental, and vision insurance, basic term life and AD&D coverage, short and long-term disability, employee assistance program (EAP), 401(k) retirement savings plan, paid time off, and paid holidays. The work schedule is primarily the first shift, Monday through Friday, from 6:00 AM to 2:30 PM, and takes place in a production or warehouse setting, involving physical activity such as standing, walking, lifting up to 25 pounds, and bending throughout the shift.

Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Minimum of 6 months to 1 year related experience or training
  • Ability to lead a group of employees
  • Strong communication skills
  • Ability to understand and apply quality standards and reporting
  • Basic knowledge of office equipment
  • Willingness to work first shift Monday to Friday 6am to 2:30pm
  • Ability to perform physical tasks such as walking, standing, lifting up to 25 pounds and bending during shift

Job Duties

  • Lead a team of sanitation staff with professionalism and effective communication
  • Maintain a high level of food safety and product quality through thorough cleaning and sanitation of equipment, utensils, and facilities
  • Manage and maintain the master sanitation schedule and cleaning checklists
  • Develop and assist in sanitation training programs and document all training processes
  • Monitor chemical mixing and usage to prevent hazards and misuse
  • Create and distribute work schedules ensuring proper completion of daily cleaning duties
  • Conduct facility inspections, implement corrective actions, and ensure compliance with regulatory and company standards
  • Keep detailed records of sanitation activities including inspections and violations
  • Develop corrective action plans for violations and follow up to ensure completion
  • Coordinate cleaning activities with sanitation, production, and maintenance teams
  • Consult with management on compliance issues and recommend process improvements
  • Manage vendor relationships related to cleaning supplies
  • Report all food safety related issues promptly to Quality or Operations Manager
  • Evaluate sanitation processes and practices to provide feedback for improvements
  • Act as Safety Advocate working closely with EHS team and maintaining company safety environment
  • Ensure company procedures and policies are consistently followed
