The Café Made to Order Sandwich Maker role is a vital position within our Healthy Living marketplace café. This is a guest-facing position that requires a dedicated, energetic individual who loves food and enjoys working in a fast-paced, collaborative kitchen environment. The Sandwich Maker prepares and assembles a wide variety of culinary delights including classic, eclectic, vegan, vegetarian, gluten-free, and meat options. The role involves crafting made-to-order sandwiches and salads with precision and care, ensuring guest satisfaction and speedy service. Candidates will take pride in maintaining the salad bar and soup station, keeping them fully stocked, clean, and labeled with the freshest ingredients.

This position offers both part-time and full-time hours with flexibility, including weekend availability to meet café operating hours of 8:00am to 7:30pm. The successful candidate will join a team that values teamwork, creativity, and high standards for food quality and customer experience. The Café Made to Order Sandwich Maker will communicate effectively with chefs, managers, and the culinary director to ensure smooth operations and a positive atmosphere. Job Requirements

  • Part-time and full-time availability

  • Ability to work from 8:00am to 7:30pm
  • Previous experience will be taken into consideration

Job Qualifications

  • Previous experience in a food service role preferred
  • Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills
  • Passion for food and customer service
  • Basic knowledge of food safety and sanitation practices
  • Ability to work both independently and as part of a team
  • Flexibility to work weekends and varied shifts

Job Duties

  • Select each ingredient with care and assemble each sandwich and salad thoughtfully, neatly and swiftly
  • Go above and beyond to accommodate guest requests
  • Respect the guest’s need for speedy and accurate service
  • Take great pride in the salad bar and soup station, making sure they are abundant, spotless, labeled with correct signage and are full of only the freshest ingredients
  • Maintain prep lists, pars and ingredients for both the self serve salad bar and made to order sandwich station
  • Be a team player and always communicate their needs to the Chef, Managers, and Culinary Director
  • Bring a beaming and bright attitude to the kitchen on a daily basis and infuse that energy into the food and into the HL community
