Job Description

Sitio El Tropicano is a vibrant and welcoming hotel located in San Antonio, Texas, deeply rooted in the spirit of the River Walk and inspired by the rich culture, color, and rhythm of South Texas. As a premier lifestyle hotel, it provides guests with unforgettable experiences, seamlessly blending cultural heritage with modern amenities to create a dynamic space for celebrations, gatherings, and events. Known for its lively atmosphere and warm hospitality, Sitio El Tropicano is dedicated to delivering excellence in both service and ambiance, establishing itself as a top destination for visitors seeking a unique and memorable stay in San Antonio. The hotel is committed to crafting unique environments where guests can connect, celebrate, and create lasting memories, supported by a passionate and professional team devoted to upholding the highest standards in hospitality.

The Senior Catering Sales & Event Manager role at Sitio El Tropicano is a critical leadership position responsible for shaping the future of special events and catering sales at the hotel. This role is more than just traditional sales; it encompasses strategic business development, client relationship management, and event planning with a focus on innovation and excellence. As the key leader in this domain, you will define and implement the vision, standards, and guest experience for all catering and events, helping to grow the hotel’s presence as a premier event destination in San Antonio. You will drive revenue by selling weddings, corporate gatherings, social occasions, and holiday parties, while actively prospecting and networking to expand market share. Additionally, you will lead cross-functional collaboration to ensure seamless sales-to-operations transitions and personally oversee high-profile events to deliver premium service quality. This position is ideal for a visionary seller who can build lasting trust with clients, thrive in a fast-paced, detail-oriented environment, and is passionate about crafting genuine hospitality experiences that reflect the spirit of South Texas. With a minimum of three years’ experience in catering sales, event management, or hospitality leadership—preferably within lifestyle hotels, resorts, or premium event venues—candidates will bring strong San Antonio market knowledge and a demonstrated ability to negotiate contracts and manage revenue goals. Experience with Delphi software is considered advantageous. This full-time position offers an exciting opportunity to contribute meaningfully to the growth and success of Sitio El Tropicano’s event and catering operations, making a lasting impact in a culturally rich and energetic hospitality setting.
