Pearson Electronics is currently seeking a Production Manufacturing Engineer who will play a critical role in coordinating workflow and ensuring the overall quality of production processes. This hands-on position is designed for a professional with strong organizational skills, a focus on quality, and the flexibility to manage multiple tasks within a small company setting. The role places the candidate directly on the production floor, allowing involvement in various operational aspects such as purchasing, quality assurance, scheduling, and interaction with other departments like sales and quality management. The engineer will be responsible for producing the company’s diverse product line of current transformers, overseeing job scheduling to meet customer deadlines, and maintaining adequate stock levels for smooth production.

An essential responsibility includes understanding and applying quality control documentation and calibration standards. Familiarity with ISO 9001:2015 standards is considered an advantage, highlighting the company's commitment to maintaining internationally recognized quality standards. The engineer will be expected to troubleshoot quality assurance challenges, inspect incoming materials, and facilitate communication between suppliers and the purchasing department to resolve quality-related issues efficiently.

In addition to production and quality control, the role requires proficiency with basic office software such as MS Excel and Word, as well as MAS 90 accounting software, to generate reports and manage documentation. Interaction with cross-functional teams, including sales for customer technical support, is also part of the position. Job Requirements

  • High school education required
  • Knowledge and experience with electro-mechanical assembly, test procedures, work instructions, assembly level drawings, and manufacturing documentation
  • Strong PC skills
  • Ability to work independently and within a team
  • Familiarity with test equipment, PCs, and basic assembly tools
  • Ability to follow verbal and written instructions
  • Ability to lift 30 pounds
  • Speaking and understanding basic English
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Quality focused

Job Qualifications

  • High school education required
  • AA or BS degree in Electrical Engineering, Electronics Engineering Technology, or Mechanical Engineering preferred
  • Knowledge and experience with electro-mechanical assembly, test procedures, work instructions, assembly level drawings, and manufacturing documentation
  • Strong PC skills
  • Knowledge of CAD programs is a plus
  • Experience working independently and in team-oriented environments
  • Familiarity with test equipment, PCs, and basic assembly tools
  • Soldering skills preferred
  • Knowledge of oscilloscopes, EMI testing, network analyzers, and electrical schematics is a plus
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills

Job Duties

  • Understand the concepts of quality control documentation, calibration standards, and ISO 9001:2015 requirements
  • Familiarize with the company’s product lines and production requirements
  • Start and schedule jobs to meet customer deadlines
  • Ensure adequate material and supplies are in stock to support production
  • Work with the Purchasing manager to ensure purchase orders are placed for materials and supplies
  • Use electro-mechanical assembly skills including handheld tools and soldering irons
  • Purchase tools and supplies to support production
  • Troubleshoot quality assurance problems and assist with quality checks and procedures
  • Inspect incoming materials and coordinate with suppliers and purchasing to resolve quality issues
  • Generate basic reports using MS Excel, Word, and MAS 90 accounting software
  • Collaborate with production manager, quality assurance team, production staff, and sales team
  • Assist sales team with customer technical issues when necessary
