The Porter position at LSG Sky Chefs offers an excellent opportunity for individuals seeking full-time employment in a unionized setting. The role pays up to $18.00 hourly and includes a comprehensive benefits package available after 30 days of employment. As a Porter, you will be an essential part of maintaining the cleanliness, sanitation, and operational efficiency of the LSG Sky Chefs facility. Your responsibilities will involve using floor machines and cleaning various work areas such as floors, walls, bathrooms, offices, coolers, freezers, ramps, and equipment. Additionally, you will be tasked with cleaning kitchen tools, trays, pots, and pans, as well as managing trash throughout the building, adhering strictly to international garbage handling and waste disposal protocols. Maintaining sanitation standards in compliance with company policies and USDA, FDA, and HACCP regulations is a critical aspect of this role.

The position demands physical endurance and the ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment. Candidates must be capable of standing, walking, stooping, bending, and pushing heavy loads throughout their shift. Working conditions include exposure to wet floors, moving equipment parts, and temperature variations ranging from hot to freezing environments, including occasional work in 38-degree cold rooms. Proper handling and use of cleaning and sanitizing chemicals are mandatory to uphold the highest hygiene standards.

The ideal candidate is a team player who communicates effectively in English, possesses basic math skills, and demonstrates reliability with excellent attendance. Candidates must be at least 18 years old, legally authorized to work in the United States, and successfully pass a background check. Additionally, the role requires flexibility to work varying shifts and the willingness to pay union dues after 60 days of employment.
