Job Description
Real Ale Brewing Company and Real Spirits Distilling Company are prominent and respected entities in the craft beverage industry, recognized for their commitment to quality, craftsmanship, and community engagement. Based in the beautiful Texas Hill Country, these companies have carved out a niche market for exceptional craft beer and spirits, appealing to a diverse and enthusiastic consumer base. Both companies combine traditional brewing and distilling techniques with innovative approaches to product development to maintain a leading position in their market. They are committed to sustainability, quality, and fostering a vibrant culture around craft beverages. The companies seek an engaging, motivated Sales Representative to join their team in San Antonio, Texas, focused on growing their brands and expanding their market share in both on-premise and off-premise sales channels.
The Sales Representative role is a full-time, exempt position reporting directly to the Sales Director. This position is integral to the company’s growth and requires a passionate individual who is enthusiastic about craft beer and spirits and is driven to build and maintain strong relationships with retail and event partners. The Sales Representative will be responsible for conducting a minimum of 200 sales calls per month, primarily focusing on on-premise accounts while also supporting off-premise retail sales. The representative will execute promotions, merchandise products, and support events both at the brewery and externally, ensuring maximum brand exposure and customer engagement.
A key aspect of the job is the ability to manage and coordinate a busy schedule that includes nights and weekends to meet promotional and sales objectives. The position involves travel throughout the market territory, requiring a reliable vehicle and the physical stamina to lift products and stand or walk during events. Responsibilities also include educating retail staff, executing point-of-sale placements, scheduling tastings and samplings, and participating in community support events to promote the brands. The Sales Representative will work closely with distributor sales representatives, submitting weekly activity reports and utilizing systems like iDIG/VIP to analyze market placement strategies.
The companies offer a competitive annual salary along with office and auto allowances, a cell phone stipend, business expense reimbursements, and eligibility for a profit-share program. Additional benefits include paid time off, employer-paid health, dental, vision, and life insurance, long-term disability insurance, a 401K with employer matching, voluntary short-term disability and additional life insurance, educational opportunities, and of course, access to beer, spirits, and the unique culture of the Texas Hill Country. Candidates must be at least 21 years old, hold a valid driver’s license with no alcohol-related offenses, and maintain current TABC server certification. A background check is required for all applicants. The ideal candidate will be someone who genuinely enjoys craft beverages, excels at relationship-building, and is committed to promoting quality products with professionalism and enthusiasm.
