In the role of Sample Control Technician I / Courier based in the Anaheim, CA Laboratory, the successful candidate will be integral to the company’s operations, working in a quality-driven and dynamic environment that values precision and teamwork. This full-time position entails handling environmental samples with accuracy and care, maintaining laboratory cleanliness, and ensuring timely sample processing. The candidate will also provide courier services to support transportation needs between Onterris facilities in Anaheim and Orange, CA. This position operates primarily on a first shift schedule from 10 am to 6:30 pm, Monday through Friday.

The Sample Control Technician I / Courier will engage in various critical responsibilities, including receiving environmental samples following standardized operating procedures, performing data entry into the Laboratory Information System (LIMS), labeling and storing samples appropriately, and managing equipment preparation and sample archiving. Safety is paramount, as the role includes working under potentially hazardous conditions, such as handling pathogens or chemicals, requiring strict adherence to safety protocols and quality assurance programs. Additionally, the position involves maintaining the company vehicle used for courier duties and occasionally operating a forklift, with the option for training and certification provided.

This role is suitable for individuals who have laboratory experience or the willingness to learn and adhere to laboratory and safety standards. The ideal candidate will be comfortable with physical demands such as lifting up to 50 pounds and remaining in stationary positions for extended periods while performing routine tasks. In addition to technical skills, candidates should be well-organized, detail-oriented, and effective communicators capable of working independently and collaboratively within a team environment.
