The HomeGoods store located at 13061 Fair Lakes Shop Center, Fairfax VA, is currently seeking a dedicated part-time team member to enhance the customer experience and uphold the high standards characteristic of TJX Companies. This role offers a starting pay range of $13.00 to $13.50 per hour, with salary determined by the individual's skills, qualifications, and experience. The position is specially designed for those who possess excellent customer service skills and who can adapt to fast-paced retail environments with flexibility and attention to detail.
As a HomeGoods associate, your primary responsibility will be to deliver an exceptional and highly satisfying customer experience by engaging and interacting with customers, embodying company customer experience principles, and maintaining a clean, organized store environment. The role demands a proactive approach towards operational, merchandise, and loss prevention standards, ensuring the store consistently meets all set objectives. Cross-training opportunities within multiple areas of the store will enable you to support business needs effectively, broadening your skillset and enhancing your versatility in retail operations.
Your daily duties will include accurately processing transactions, returns, and promotions such as credit and loyalty programs, following established procedures strictly to maintain accuracy and customer trust. You will actively participate in maintaining the store's organized merchandising philosophy by preparing merchandise for sales floors and contributing to store recovery tasks throughout the day. Cleanliness and safety are paramount, and you will be expected to keep the sales floor and entire store in excellent condition while adhering to all labor laws, store policies, and procedures.
Being a key team member, you will also support a positive store culture, promote honesty, integrity, and respect among colleagues, and participate in safety and shrink reduction programs. Job Requirements
- high school diploma or equivalent
- prior retail or customer service experience preferred
- able to stand for extended periods
- capable of lifting heavy objects with or without reasonable accommodation
- able to work flexible hours including evenings, weekends, and holidays
- strong communication skills
- capable of following company policies and procedures
- ability to work effectively in a team environment
- legal authorization to work in the United States

Job Duties

- initiates and participates in store recovery as needed throughout the day
- maintains all organizational, cleanliness, and recovery standards for the sales floor and participates in the maintenance/cleanliness of the entire store

- supports and participates in store shrink reduction goals and programs
- participates in safety awareness and maintains a safe environment
