The role of the Sales Leader (District Account Manager – Wine Specialist) is crucial for maintaining and expanding Georgos Wine's influence in the competitive Boston market. This full-time position requires a dynamic and motivated professional who can think innovatively and independently to drive the company’s sales objectives. The Sales Leader will be responsible for increasing product placements with existing customers and actively identifying and securing new accounts throughout the district. This is a highly autonomous position, demanding an individual who is not only analytical and strategic but also capable of designing and executing a world-class, repeatable sales process.

In this position, the candidate will directly interact with store managers, restaurant owners, and other key personnel, hosting wine tastings, securing orders, and maintaining impeccable customer relations. Their daily activities will involve organizing their work schedule to ensure consistent customer visits and maximizing face-time to nurture and expand relationships. They will be expected to maintain complete distribution and shelf placement of authorized wine products, prepare reports, and adhere to company standards and sales call protocols. Job Requirements

  • Must be at least 21 years of age
  • Must have a valid Massachusetts driver’s license and clean driving record
  • Possess a dependable vehicle and proof of state car registration and insurance
  • Must be willing to reside within territory
  • Must be able to repetitively lift 45 plus pounds and perform physical tasks including bending, squatting, climbing, kneeling, twisting, and lifting repetitively
  • Strong organizational skills
  • Must be self-motivated
  • Must have a passion for wine and maintain high integrity
  • Ability to interpret complex instructions
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and independently
  • Must have excellent communication skills
  • Ability to write reports and correspondences
  • Ability to speak effectively before groups
  • Availability to work flexible hours and weekends
  • Previous sales experience preferred
  • Must live in Boston area

Job Qualifications

  • Must be at least 21 years of age

  • Ability to write routine reports and correspondence
  • Ability to speak effectively before groups
  • Previous sales experience preferred but not required
  • Availability to work flexible hours and weekends when necessary

Job Duties

  • Service existing accounts, host wine tastings, secure orders, establish new accounts by planning and organizing daily work schedule to call on existing or potential customers
  • Establish and maintain rapport with store managers, restaurant owners and other store personnel
  • Visit customers frequently and maximize face-time
  • Maintain 100% distribution and complete administrative responsibilities for the territory
  • Maintain 100% shelf distribution of all authorized items for each chain
  • Have 25 appointments/selling situations every week
  • Cut-in new item distribution and DSD items
  • Rotate vintages, fill shelves, build displays, maintain company housekeeping standards
  • Submit travel and entertainment expense reports by end of month
  • Complete daily and weekly preplans, recaps, and distribution reports
  • Follow the 10 steps to a successful sales call
  • Attend and contribute to weekly team meetings, participate in role-play presentations, review displays and case goals vs. actual
  • Carry cell phone at all times during working hours to communicate with accounts and management
  • Perform additional duties as assigned by supervisor
  • Develop as a wine business professional and improve sales and business acumen skills
