The current opening is for a Salesperson to join Canopy's East Coast sales team, focusing on the Florida market. This role offers an excellent opportunity for individuals interested in gaining insider exposure to the wine industry while actively contributing to the company's growth. The ideal candidate will be driven, resourceful, and able to establish fruitful relationships with new customers in the marketplace. Responsibilities include presenting Canopy's exclusive collection of South African wines to target customers such as wine shops, restaurants, hotels, and bars. The role requires diligent follow-up on sales leads to solicit orders, maintain strong customer engagement, and ensure product availability. As a small but dynamic business, Canopy expects every team member to embrace a cooperative spirit and contribute to the shared success of the company.
Key duties include scheduling appointments and showcasing Canopy’s portfolio to prospective clients throughout greater Miami and South Florida. While sales outside these areas aren’t a mandatory part of the role, candidates with the ability and willingness to travel to other significant Floridian markets such as Orlando, Tampa, and North Florida will find this a distinct advantage. The salesperson will be expected to balance persistence with tact, ensuring an effective sales process without being overbearing. Maintaining detailed records of sales leads and customer interactions is essential for tracking growth and planning future strategies. Additionally, this role involves conducting wine tastings and organizing marketing activities aimed at increasing brand awareness and fostering customer loyalty. The salesperson will also seek opportunities for partnerships, sponsorships, and other marketing initiatives that can boost Canopy’s presence in the Florida market. A keen analytical eye for sales trends and customer preferences helps to refine the approach and optimize sales performance.

Compensation includes a base salary complemented by commission on sales, incentivizing proactive and successful sales efforts. Candidates should have at least two years of marketing or sales experience, with preferences given to those with backgrounds in restaurants or wine shops. Proficiency in computer skills, alongside strong written and oral communication capabilities, is essential. A valid driver’s license is also required because of the extensive travel involved.
