The Sales Porter position at Jaguar Land Rover San Jose plays a critical role in maintaining smooth and efficient operations within the service department. The Sales Porter acts as the first point of contact for customers entering the service area, greeting them with a friendly and professional attitude, and assisting with vehicle check-ins and retrievals.

Sales Porters are responsible for recording essential vehicle details including the customer name, vehicle identification number (VIN), mileage, and existing damage. They control service traffic flow, park vehicles carefully after check-in, and manage the preparation of vehicles by installing protective covers and tags. This role is vital in delivering a positive customer experience by promptly retrieving vehicles for customers at service completion and maintaining a clean and hazard-free service drive area.

The expected salary for this full-time position is $23.00 per hour, and Saturday availability is required. Applicants must be authorized to work in the USA, possess a valid driver's license, and have a good driving record. They must also pass pre-employment screening including background checks, motor vehicle records (MVR), drug testing, and credit checks.

Job Duties

  • Greet all customers entering the service area with a friendly, upbeat professional attitude
  • answer customer questions and direct them appropriately
  • determine if customers have appointments and record vehicle information including name, VIN, tag number, mileage, and existing damage
  • control service traffic flow and parking
  • assist with loaner vehicles as needed
  • park vehicles safely after check-in
  • drive safely and report any lot damage immediately
  • retrieve customer vehicles for pick-up and thank customers for their business
  • install disposable seat covers, steering wheel covers, floor mats, and ID tags in vehicles
  • deliver keys and repair order copies to the service advisor
  • maintain a clean and safe service drive area
  • drive vehicles to and from service lanes and parking lots as needed
  • make key tags
  • maintain a professional appearance
  • follow all company safety policies and report accidents
  • perform other duties as assigned
