Job Description

AutoNation is one of the largest automotive retailers in the United States, providing an extensive network of dealerships nationwide. Known for its innovative products and exceptional customer service, AutoNation offers a broad range of new and used vehicles, customer financing options, parts, and expert maintenance and repair services. Dedicated to empowering customers to make the best decisions for their automotive needs, AutoNation's strong brand and comprehensive solutions ensure a satisfying purchasing experience. The company is also recognized for its commitment to social responsibility through its DRV PNK initiative, which has raised over $40 million to support cancer research and treatment, reflecting its dedication to positively impacting its associates, customers, and communities.

AutoNation fosters a diverse, equitable, and inclusive workplace culture, encouraging candidates from all backgrounds to apply, even if they do not meet every requirement. This commitment to inclusion and belonging forms the foundation of the company’s innovative and teamwork-driven environment.

The Porter-New/Used position at AutoNation is a crucial role that supports the sales and upkeep of vehicles as well as the maintenance of dealership property. This role entails hands-on responsibilities that keep the vehicle lot neat and orderly by moving and arranging units in accordance with dealership display standards and directions from sales managers. The porter plays an essential role in transporting customers and dealership personnel safely and efficiently, assisting with customer deliveries, and ensuring all vehicles are clean and properly maintained both on the lot and in the showroom environment.

Additional duties include placing window stickers on newly arrived vehicles to meet display requirements, managing the logistics of picking up and delivering vehicles to and from storage and other dealerships, and participating in weather-related clean-up and general building and grounds maintenance. This role requires expertise in handling machinery safely, driving across surrounding states to transport vehicles (including the ability to operate manual transmission vehicles), and proficient use of hand and power tools to assist with basic automotive repair and upkeep.

Compensation for this position ranges from $16 to $20 per hour, reflecting the importance of the role within the AutoNation team. The company offers a healthy work environment with excellent benefits, including competitive pay, 401k matching, health and dental insurance, and vision coverage. Additionally, employees gain access to purchase and discount programs not only on new and pre-owned vehicles but also on services, parts, collision repairs, accessories, and other AutoGear products. Unique opportunities such as discounts through the YouDecide platform provide access to offers from top providers and retailers. Joining AutoNation means becoming part of a mission-driven business with a focus on community impact and a culture that values innovation and teamwork.
