The Porter-New/Used role at AutoNation is critical to the smooth operation of the dealership, focusing on the upkeep and management of vehicles both new and used, as well as maintaining the dealership property to high standards. This full-time position offers compensation starting at $15.40 per hour and engages individuals who are detail-oriented, safety-conscious, and comfortable working with various machinery and vehicles. The Porter is responsible for organizing the vehicle lot, ensuring the cars are displayed according to dealership standards, and assisting the sales team by moving vehicles as directed. Their day-to-day tasks include cleaning vehicles, placing window stickers on new arrivals, and assisting with customer deliveries to ensure an excellent customer experience.
Additionally, the Porter-New/Used must be capable of driving vehicles across surrounding states to transport inventory, including manual transmission vehicles. The role also involves property maintenance duties such as weather-related clean-up and upkeep of the dealership grounds. - Knowledge of basic automotive repair and maintenance
- Ability to handle machinery safely
- Ability to drive across surrounding states to transport vehicles
- Ability to drive manual transmission
- Valid state driver’s license
- Ability to operate an automobile
- Ability to use hand and power tools

Job Duties
- Keeping vehicle lot neat and orderly
- Moving units as directed by the sales managers and in accordance with dealership display standards
- Transporting customers and dealership personnel as needed
- Assisting with customer deliveries
- Ensuring all vehicles are clean and in good repair on the lot and showroom
- Ensuring all window stickers are properly placed on newly arrived vehicles for display on the sales floor or lot
- Picking up vehicles from storage and delivering vehicles to storage and other dealerships
- Assisting with weather related clean up when necessary
- Building and grounds maintenance as needed
- Other functions and special projects may be assigned
