Job Description

Our company is a reputable auto dealership committed to providing exceptional automotive sales and service experiences to our customers. We pride ourselves on fostering a professional and respectful work environment where every team member is valued and supported. As part of our dedication to employee satisfaction, we offer competitive wages, a comprehensive medical insurance plan, a 401k retirement saving option, paid vacation and holiday time, and an employee vehicle purchase program. Our dealership operates with integrity and excellence, ensuring that we meet and exceed customer expectations at every visit.

The role of the Sales Porter is a crucial position within our dealership's operations team. This full-time role involves the efficient management and movement of dealer inventory, which includes setting up lot vehicles and collaborating closely with the detailing department. The Sales Porter ensures that all vehicles, whether traded in or received from manufacturers, are prepared to the highest standards. These responsibilities include maintaining cleanliness and fueling vehicles to guarantee they are customer-ready once sold. The role requires the porter to drive both manual and automatic transmission vehicles confidently and safely to various dealership locations as needed.

This physically demanding position requires a proactive individual who can work well under varying environmental conditions while maintaining a clean and hazard-free work area. Key responsibilities include attending all scheduled meetings, adhering to all federal, state, and local laws relating to vehicle management and hazardous waste disposal, parking and retrieving vehicles for customers during delivery and drop-off, and performing routine maintenance and cleaning of service areas. Additional duties may be assigned to support the smooth operation of the dealership.

Our ideal candidate for the Sales Porter position will be detailed-oriented, courteous, and helpful, always attentive to the needs of colleagues and customers. Strong customer service skills and the ability to communicate effectively in both English and Spanish, including reading and writing, are essential. The candidate must hold a valid driver’s license, be insurable, and possess the ability to drive various types of vehicles safely. A high school diploma or equivalent qualification is required for this role.

Working conditions for this role involve standing for extended periods—typically six to eight hours or more daily—and occasionally lifting equipment weighing between 10 and 75 pounds. The work environment may expose the porter to dust, exhaust fumes, and a range of hazardous and non-hazardous materials, underscoring the importance of compliance with safety protocols. The role may occasionally demand evening, holiday, and weekend shifts, emphasizing the need for flexibility and reliability.

Joining us as a Sales Porter means becoming part of a dynamic team where your efforts contribute directly to customer satisfaction and the overall efficiency of our dealership. We are committed to supporting our employees' professional growth and well-being, making this an excellent opportunity for individuals seeking a rewarding career in the automotive industry.
