The Porter - New/Used role at AutoNation is a crucial position tasked with a variety of duties tied to the sale and upkeep of vehicles and maintaining the dealership property. This position requires attentiveness to detail, physical ability, and a dedication to keeping the dealership’s vehicle lots and showrooms in immaculate condition. Day-to-day responsibilities include keeping the vehicle lot neat and orderly, moving units as directed by sales managers to meet dealership display standards, and assisting with customer deliveries. The role also involves transporting customers and dealership personnel as needed, ensuring all vehicles are clean and in good repair, and managing the proper placement of window stickers on new arrivals for display.
Additional responsibilities include picking up and delivering vehicles to storage or other dealerships, assisting with weather-related cleanup, performing general building and grounds maintenance, and completing other special projects as assigned. Candidates for this position must possess basic automotive repair and maintenance knowledge, the ability to handle machinery safely, and have a valid state's driver’s license. Experience driving manual transmission vehicles and the ability to transport vehicles across surrounding states are necessary.
