Job Description

This position is within a company that runs retail store operations specializing in sales and service within a specific market segment. Furthermore, the GM is responsible for fostering a culture of learning and development by actively promoting ongoing training initiatives, which enhances team performance and operational effectiveness.

In addition to operational leadership, the GM will manage lead generation and sales forecasting activities, ensuring that targets related to unit sales and gross profits are met consistently. The role includes working closely with the Regional Sales Manager to analyze performance scorecards and pinpoint areas that require targeted improvements. Inventory management and collaboration with the inventory and service departments are essential to maintain optimal stock levels and service quality.

Customer satisfaction remains a focal point, with the General Manager tasked to uphold high customer service standards characterized by professional and courteous interactions. The role aims to achieve a Net Promoter Score (NPS) that equals or surpasses corporate averages, reflecting the commitment to excellence in customer experience processes. Leadership is also demonstrated through fostering employee engagement and embodying the company’s core values.

Job Duties

  • Supervise all facets of the store's operations including consumer sales, commercial sales, and service operations
  • support overall company objectives and ensure consistent messaging in alignment with Regional Sales and Service Managers to the store staff
  • provide store performance reports as required utilizing key performance indicators
  • identify local market opportunities and utilize corporate support to enhance business through localized marketing efforts
  • collaborate with HR to recruit and retain qualified candidates
  • manage team performance and provide coaching and mentorship
  • uphold customer treatment standards for satisfaction
  • promote a culture of training by participating in training initiatives
  • oversee and promote sales of all company products and services
  • manage incoming leads generated by the Business Development Center to meet show rate and solution rate goals
  • accurately forecast unit sales and gross profit levels
  • collaborate with Regional Sales Manager to review GM scorecard and identify focus areas
  • manage and maintain vehicle inventory with inventory team
  • partner with Service Manager to oversee service operations including technician efficiency
  • aim to achieve NPS results at or above corporate average
  • foster employee engagement by demonstrating leadership in support of core values
